The Fioretti Trust IDEA Working Group was originally set up in May 2022, with a relaunch with new members in October 2025.
The Group agreed their mission statement as follows:
“A working party driving Fioretti Trust to ensure that all our schools have environments that are inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible where every child and adult feel heard and supported to flourish. We strive to provide consistency so that each child and adult can reach their full potential.”
Our IDEA Working Group is led by Claire Grainger (Head of Trust), in partnership with Denise Gardner (Head of Ethos) and Sarah Wisdom (COO). Our current members are Leanne Campbell (Trustee), Mike Ewins (St Mary's Governor), Alison Longvill (St John's & St Peter's Pastoral Care Manager) and Josh McCormack (St Francis Class Teacher).
The Schools’ Choral Project, was offered by the Birmingham Choral Education Partnership, part of Handsworth St Mary’s Music, under the leadership of Khadeem Duncan-Bannerjee and his team. A number of diocesan schools were successfully involved in the recent project, with a particular focus on those serving diverse and deprived areas. The project aimed to have a particular impact on those children and schools who would not normally easily access extra-curricular music and choral tuition.
Fioretti were delighted that St Mary's CE Academy (Handsworth) took part in the project.
You can watch the three-minute film ‘New Horizons’ made during the Birmingham Seven Choirs Festival below.
Since 2020, we have been acknowledging the national Stephen Lawrence Day (22nd April) across our family of schools. Click here to see our dedicated Stephen Lawrence Day page.
All Key Stage 2 children across the Fioretti Trust completed reflective pieces of work based to mark the 30th anniversary since the murder of Stephen Lawrence. We completed work on role models and looked at the changes we want to see in the world. Please look at the video below for a taster of what work has been produced by the children across the trust.
